“You may stumble upon your heritage. It’s there, but it’s waiting to be explored and shared through story telling, often your stories and your experiences, waiting to be captured and told…”
Intepretation & Heritage Plans
Heritage interpretation is the art of presenting ideas and concepts in a cultural and environmental context and supporting visitors to think about those cultural places in terms of their own experience. Effective interpretation enables more enriched understandings of heritage places.
What we mean is that interpretation is about ideas. These ideas are about ourselves, our culture, our history, environment, objects, and sites. We use a range of media to convey ideas and to provoke thinking about heritage places to both adult and child audiences.
Eikos specialises in heritage interpretation for heritage and natural places. Our capability includes:
- Interpretation master plans, including storyline development, thematic development, curriculum planning, media and concept design
- Heritage master plans for historic and heritage settings (together with conservation management plans, if required)
- Design and documentation of interpretative media, including concept and detailed design of interpretative signage
- Cutting edge technology including design and development of virtual media including digital technology, smart technology, mobile device apps and virtual reality media.
